Meet the Inspiration

Harriet Quimby (May 11, 1875 – July 1, 1912) was an American aviator, journalist, and film screenwriter. In 1911, she became the first woman in the United States to receive a pilot's license.

Harriet joined an exhibition team and toured the country, drawing crowds at every airshow she participated in. As one of the country's few female pilots, she liked to capitalize on her femininity by wearing a satin blouse, jewelry, with trousers and tall laced boots.
