Meet the Inspiration

Named after Tammie Jo Shults, the iconic American aviator who is best known for safely landing Southwest Airlines Flight 1380 on April 17, 2018. The aircraft suffered an uncontained engine failure with debris, which then caused a rapid decompression.

Before joining SWA, she was one of the first female U.S. Navy pilots to fly the F/A-18 Hornet, and enjoyed a distinguished career in naval aviation.
