Meet the Inspiration

Named after Willa Brown (1906–1992), a pioneering aviator, educator, and civil rights leader who helped shape the future of aviation. She was a lifelong advocate for gender and racial equality in the field of aviation as well as in the military.

As the first African-American woman in the United States to earn both a pilot's license and a commercial pilot's license, she dedicated her life to expanding opportunities in aviation and inspired generations of pilots to follow.
